The experience

A short drive out of the city, the light pollution falls away and the sky opens up. You are met at a private majlis camp in the Al Marmoom reserve for a slow Emirati dinner, then an astronomer walks you through the night sky with a proper telescope.

It is quiet, warm, and a little bit awe-inspiring. The kind of evening that makes a city feel very far away.
